Why did you make your products out of metal?
As new moms it was important to teach our daughters to be environmentally conscious. We originally designed an acrylic palette but when we learned how long it took plastic (400+ years) to decompose we decided against it. Our palettes are made of grade “A” food safe tin plate to help eliminate our carbon footprint. This means that the palette itself is made of steel, but it’s coated with a layer of tin to make it resistant to the corrosive properties of acidic ingredients. The only part of the component that is plastic is the window. When possible, we have also eliminated plastic from our external shipping packaging!

What are your custom pans made out of?
Our custom pans are made out of corrosion resistant tin. We decided this was the best option as they are much lighter than steel and also have a lower melting point. This means that if you are de-potting your cream products and melting them down, it will melt faster making your job easier.

Where did you get the idea for a magnetic spatula?
We thought of the idea in April 2020 when we came across a video on Instagram of a girl using a large egg shaped magnet to depot her eyeshadows. As keeping a sanitary kit is so important we knew that a magnetic spatula was the best option to eliminate cross contamination. Our spatula has a strong magnet that is specifically made for Perfect Palettes, as it’s spans the length of our custom tins and also magnetizes to the inside of the lid. Storing the spatula inside the palette also reduced the chance of misplacing it (which we both have experienced). We only have limited quantities in our first batch as this product is still undergoing development.
